CRADLE TO CRADLE APPROACH AND DESIGN SYSTEM:
A STRATEGIC ALLIANCE TO PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY AND
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THE SME’S WORLD

Milan, 29 th September – 2 days full of events, 1 important exhibition of 80 projects, more than 2500 visitors and a prestigious academic location. These are the ingredients able to describe Dal Dire Al Fare, the only Italian fair dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility and promoted by Milano Metropoli Development Agency, BIC La Fucina, Lombardy Region, Province of Milan, Sodalitas Foundation (born to promote good practices of sustainable development), Koìnetica (a communication agency specialized in CSR) and involved more than 100 important organizations. This fair is a sort of market in which to connect new ideas’ owner with possible partners able to develop it. A very specialised event for experts in Communication.

In this frame the local Network of C2C decided to present its approach to SME’s Design System, so to promote indirectly the developing of the environmental sustainability and CSR. There were an exhibition board, a book programme, a temporary stand and a crowded workshop too focused on C2C. Great debate, great interest were evident in this audience.

“Who designs a product or a service is the first subject able to realize a full responsible action. Choices able to shape the industrial production and, in the long term, consumers’ choices coming from him – said Carlo Proserpio, professor of the Politecnico of Milano, during the public workshop -. So the designer is the first person to make aware about C2C. The designer can test really innovative and competitive new solutions. Its task is to win the ‘zero impact’ challenge”.

“At European and at local level, the Network C2C – added Renato Galliano, general manager Milano Metropoli. – reinforces connections, exchanges. Through best practices, pilot experiences we want to drive a real change. Our way of thinking is inclusive. All kinds of collaboration with public- private- non profit stakeholders are really appreciated. Hypothesis, suggestions to work together are welcome.”
